Full Version: Why are my wheels so floppy?

When I adjust my wheel nuts so my wheels spin freely, they seem really floppy. From what I can tell this is normal, but it seems wrong.
They are rock plates with Zoom wheels and abec 5 bearings.
Everything is fairly new. It has always been like this. They skate fine. I was just wonder why it is this way?
Probably the cheap bearings. Mine are like that and I figure that's why.
If I snug them up, they don't wobble. They don't spin very well, either.
It's normal. They are 8mm bearings on a 5/16 shaft. It is a loose fit. Nothing you can do about it. If it bothers you switch to 7mm axles and bearings. 7mm axles are really 9/32 but they fit much better than the 8mm junk. Most of the time they are stronger axles too.

Welcome to the site, Chozn 1.
Thatnks for all the responses. It make sense now why they are floppy. It just isn't what I expected I guess. You would think this stuff would fit better than it does.
