Is it just me, or are shipping costs here in the US getting higher?
Every year they get higher. It sucks..

Shipping rates are also based on the volume of services from the previous week. For example, I had UPS ship a hot air balloon once. Between the cost of shipping the balloon and our normal volume we had $1500+ in shipping. The following week, our shipping rates dropped by %20 because our 'volume' increase moved us into a better rate chart..
They are getting higher.
USPS is going out of business and keeps on having to cut back deliver, so they raise rates.
If USPS raises rates, then UPS and FedEx can afford to do the same.

I've been noticing it both from personal stuff and the company my mom works for. They manufacture suspension systems for cars and the costs of shipping some of the parts is absolutely ridiculous and getting higher. It's becoming in their best interest to open more and more warehouses around the world to help cut costs.

It really sucks.
They are getting a lot higher. USPS is going broke because of outdated retirement plans. The govt. just wants to spend a couple trillion more dollars this year instead of cutting back. It promises to be fun, fun, fun.
Wow, let's turn this into a political discussion now.

Also, keep in mind that USPS funds itself.
Our taxes and federal money don't go towards it.
A lot higher! It seem that it is costing at least 50% more to ship things FedEx ground than compared to 4 years back.
